About the job
Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, moving, and stationary plant equipment, including pumps, compressors, drives, and agitators. Ensures equipment safety before work, keeps accurate maintenance records, and maintains a clean, orderly workspace. Performs repairs, replacements, and installations, informs Production when equipment is ready, and promptly reports issues to the Maintenance Supervisor to prevent breakdowns. Supports the development of the Maintenance Mechanic role.
In your future role as Master Mechanic you will
- Responsible for and thoroughly familiar with the operation, maintenance and care of all mechanical, moving or stationary equipment associated with the plant.
- Must maintain, repair, and be capable of fabrication and installation of threaded, welded, flanged, cemented, or leaded joint piping of ferrous, non-ferrous or plastic materials.
- Must be familiar with, and capable of, the maintenance and installation of pumps, compressors, agitators and other equipment and their controlling devices and apparatus.
- Must be capable of working from prints, sketches and/or verbal and written instructions.
- Must be capable of performing non-certified minor welding and minor electrical work within code requirements.
- Must have a Master Plumber’s license or a minimum of 12 years experience as a maintenance mechanic.
- Must be capable of actively participating in the individual progress, development, and advancement of maintenance mechanic.
- Drives forklift to carry tools to and from job site only
