About the Department
Performs a variety of personnel and payroll related functions; resolves internal and external concerns; meets strict timelines and maintains the highest level of accuracy and compliance.
Position Duties
- Receive, analyze, and process information for a variety of personnel and pay related documents pertaining to employees for the District. Validate all pay transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency prior to committing the action to the Human Resources/Payroll/Finance ERP (HR/PR/Finance ERP).
- Identify issues and work collaboratively with supervisors and Human Resources (HR) to ensure accurate and timely application of compensation forms.
- Create new employee records for initial compensation in HR/PR/Finance ERP. Validate and add positions based on forms submitted to HR for all employee of the District. Ensure all information regarding employees and their assigned jobs are accurately maintained in HR/PR/Finance ERP, and that required changes, updates and revisions are completed in support of payroll activities.
- Provide training for the district regarding issues related to the Payroll component of the ERP.
- Helps with special projects including year-end W-2 processing and distribution; reconciling basic GL accounts, preparing internal reports.
- Performs other duties commensurate with functions and level of position or as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION: Associates Degree
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of related experience
Background Verification: As a condition of employment, all candidates accepting an offer of employment for a full-time, part- time, temporary, student worker, or volunteer position, will be required to undergo a Background Verification. Employment with Central Arizona College is contingent upon the successful completion of the background verification. The level the background verification for this position is: Executive level.

This is a pension system that requires mandatory contributions from the employee with a matching contribution from the employer. The 25-26 fiscal year contribution rate is 12.00%. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties require some physical effort. Duties performed cause light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other facilities due to long periods of standing, sitting, and repetitive motion. Duties require little physical effort in work with light to moderate (up to 20lbs) easy to handle materials.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements. Some tasks require exposure to external elements. Travel is required.
