JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:  Recess Monitor

JOB GOAL: The recess monitor will engage and play with students at recess. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience and working with children
• Enjoy getting to know children and actively playing.
• Flexible with duties and responsibilities. Ability to shift gears as needed. 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Actively play with children. 
• Assist children who need support. 
• Actively monitor playground for safety and ensuring students are playing safely.    
• Help students transition to and from recess. 
• Work collaboratively with the colleagues and building administration to ensure that recess is a safe and fun part of each day.  

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  180 Days. 2-3 hours per day, depending on the school. 

REPORTS TO:  Building Principals and Assistant Principals

Pay rate: $16.50 per hour
