Description

American Road Group is seeking a Buyer (Apparel & Licensing) for our Harley-Davidson Dealerships! This is a full time position located in Orlando, FL.

Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and self-motivated Buyer to join our dynamic merchandising team. This role is responsible for making purchasing decisions across assigned product categories, managing the item lifecycle and purchase order process, and using data-driven analysis to support sales and margin growth. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is comfortable juggling multiple priorities with precision and professionalism.


This position offers an exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally with vendors, marketing, and store operations while playing a critical role in shaping merchandise strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

Merchandise Buying & Item Management

• Make strategic purchasing decisions for core and seasonal product assortments to meet sales and margin targets.

• Manage item lifecycle: set up new SKUs, apply markdowns, maintain system coding, and communicate transfers to store teams.

• Execute and monitor price changes and lifecycle transitions with accuracy and attention to timing.

Purchase Order & Vendor Management

• Enter and manage purchase orders, including vendor communication, tagging instructions, and delivery tracking.

• Resolve vendor issues related to pricing, order delays, or product quality.

• Maintain up-to-date delivery timelines and changes in system to ensure accuracy across teams.

Business Analysis & Reporting

• Analyze inventory, Open-to-Buy (OTB), and sales performance across categories.

• Monitor merchandise reports and present findings and recommendations to leadership.

• Use data to identify business trends, risks, and opportunities for inventory optimization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Marketing to plan and execute promotional strategies tied to events and seasonal launches.

• Collaborate with Store Operations to gather in-store insights, support visual displays, and communicate key product and assortment updates.

• Train and support merchandise assistants on product planning, communication, and vendor processes.


Requirements

Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or inventory management.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven retail environment.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for vendor, team, and store correspondence.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables; working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Self-starter who thrives in both independent and collaborative settings.


Compensation:

Compensation is based on experience. 

Pay Range: $57k-$72k annually
