We’re seeking a Public Relations Administrative Specialist to provide high-level support for public-facing events and communications within our Capital Projects Division. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping the office running smoothly while contributing to a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Apply today to join a dynamic team making a meaningful impact in our community!- Assist with the planning and executing of public meetings, ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and workshops to communicate and share information with the citizens of Sarasota County.
- Assist with creating presentations, brochures, postcards, mass mailings, web page content, door hangers, emergency notifications, and any other communication needs in notifying citizens.
- Design and upload the Projects in My Neighborhoods (PIMN) documents and coordinate with department leadership and project managers to ensure the information is communicated accurately.
- Prepare a weekly, one-week look ahead update that provides key information on capital projects in the news and of interest for use by the County Contact Center, Communications staff, Administration, and Capital Projects.
- Prepare and publish online weekly BSR and Calls report.
- Act as a Vision Administrator for scgov.net and Sharepoint Administrator for the department.
- Back-up support to Director – calendaring/scheduling.
- P-card holder for procuring media/signage for events, office supplies, permits, misc. items for the department.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in related field AND four (4) years of experience in administrative experience with some executive exposure.
- -OR- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in or related field AND two (2) years of experience in administrative experience with some executive exposure.
- -OR- Six (6) years of experience in administrative, secretarial, or communications experience with some executive exposure and managers discretion.
- A valid Florida Driver's license at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
- Knowledge of eGenda, OnBase, One Solution, SharePoint, Lucid Chart, Workday, Clearpoint, Smartsheet and Works (Bank of America).
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $23.56 - $25.00/ hour, based on experience.
