QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or licensure track related human services field.
- Meet the criteria for a Licensed Mental Health Professional per the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) and Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) standards by being registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
- Clinical experience, preferably working in Community Mental Health with youth and/or adults with severe mental illnesses and/or behavioral problems.
- Must hold a valid, current Commonwealth of VA Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s liability insurance.
- Other requirements as assigned by DMAS and/or licensure standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to all DOS policies and procedures and complete other tasks which may be necessary.
- Provide comprehensive direct clinical outpatient treatment to include intake and diagnostic assessments, corresponding individual and family work, martial therapy, crisis intervention during business hours, and therapeutic groups (when applicable) in compliance with DMAS/DOS policies and procedures.
- Clinical Therapist will hold a client billable expectation (carry a client caseload).
- Responsible for monitoring and auditing case files.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of Individual, Family, and Group treatment interventions as applicable for specific service area assignments.
- Maintain compliance with all funding source regulations, rules, and documentation requirements to ensure timely approval of all service authorizations and re-authorizations for our clients.
- Maintain compliance with Licensure, HIPAA, Medicaid, Department of Social Services and other professional standards and funding sources.
- Report clinical concerns, as outlined in policy, in a timely manner to your Clinical Manager and assist in disseminating information to and from the clinical team.
- Comply with Commonwealth of Virginia Mandated Reporting Laws.
- Maintain licensing as required
- Represent DOS in a positive and professional manner.
