7 HOUR CHILD DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST - ORCHARD HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position is 7 hours per day, beginning August 21, 2025.

REPORTS TO: Principal
SALARY: $24.11 to $31.17 depending on experience.JOB DESCRIPTION: The individual hired for this position will help elementary level students maximize "in class" time. Duties will include implementing strategies with students to help them maximize learning time and strengthen lagging skills; communicate with parents, keeping them up to date on the strategies being used, current goals, and progress toward those goals; collaboration with EBISS team member and data collection.
This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or AA/AS degree from an accredited college or university; with a major in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred
Ability to manage student behavior in classroom environment
Possess strong computer skills; word processing, internet, email, and clerical skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to use good judgment when carrying out tasks
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students and adults
Bilingual in Spanish and English highly desirable.
Physical demands needed: ability to communicate with students, co-workers, and the public; ability to communicate over the telephone; ability to respond to telephone, bells, students, co-workers, etc.; ability to respond to workplace disturbances, visual cues, student requests, etc.; ability to read written materials; ability to operate office equipment; ability to carry or lift light loads (25 lbs).
