Job Description

Are you passionate about swimming and love working with people of all ages? Do you want to make a splash (literally and figuratively) in a leadership role where you can teach, motivate, and create unforgettable experiences in the pool? Join acac as our Swim Lesson Coordinator and help swimmers of all levels dive into success!

What You’ll Be Doing:

As our Swim Lesson Coordinator, you’ll be the go-to leader for all things swim lessons—from scheduling and staffing to teaching and celebrating progress. You'll keep the program running smoothly while creating a fun and safe learning environment for children and adults alike.

Your Day-to-Day Might Include:

  • Running the show for all swim lesson programs (private, semi-private, and group).
  • Building lesson plans and schedules in Club Automation.
  • Hiring, training, and leading a top-notch team of swim instructors.
  • Hosting team meetings and keeping communication flowing.
  • Teaching and demonstrating swim skills with energy and care.
  • Providing excellent communication and progress updates to participants and families.
  • Collaborating with our VP of Projects & Program Development to keep programs aligned and thriving.
  • Taking an active role on the swim lesson project team.
  • Tracking lesson progress and making sure everyone’s on course to succeed.
  • Bringing the energy to every lesson—materials ready, pool prepped, and safety top-of-mind.
  • Helping meet (and beat!) swim lesson revenue goals.
  • Staying in-the-know about all things acac to best serve our members.

What You Bring to the Pool Deck:

  • A love for swimming and teaching others.
  • Leadership skills that inspire and motivate a team.
  • Comfort in both shallow and deep water (and water that's warm or cool!).
  • Ability to teach all levels with creativity, patience, and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Prior experience teaching swim lessons or coaching is a big plus.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Starfish Instructor Certification (or willingness to complete within 30 days of hire).

Requirements

Physical Stuff (Nothing You Can’t Handle):

  • You’ll be in the pool regularly using repetitive movements.
  • You’ll work in warm, humid, sometimes noisy environments.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What We Expect from You (and What You Can Expect from Us):

At acac, we’re all about delivering amazing member experiences—and that includes a strong, positive team environment. As part of our crew, you’ll:

  • Be friendly, reliable, and ready to lead with a smile.
  • Help keep the club clean, safe, and welcoming for all.
  • Jump in on special events and community activities.
  • Return calls/emails promptly and  professionally.
  • Be visible, involved, and engaged during lesson hours.

Why Join acac?

Because we’re more than just a pool—we’re a community. You’ll be part of a mission-driven team that values health, connection, and fun. Your leadership will help people of all ages feel confident, safe, and excited about swimming!
