Position: Accounts Payable Manager

Due to current, as well as projected future growth, Echelon is currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to assist our Liverpool, NY based Finance Team complete day-to-day office tasks, communications, and accounting activities.With a legacy of service, innovation, and reliability, we continue to grow as a trusted partner across North America. Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Oversight

    • Lead, train, and mentor a team of AP specialists.

    • Set performance goals and ensure high levels of accuracy and productivity.

    • Provide coaching, development, and performance evaluations.

  • Process & Compliance

    • Oversee invoice processing, approvals, and timely payments.

    • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

    • Manage month-end and year-end close responsibilities for AP.

  • Vendor & Stakeholder Relations

    • Maintain positive relationships with vendors, resolving inquiries and disputes promptly.

    • Collaborate with Procurement and Receiving teams to address purchase order or delivery discrepancies.

  • System & Reporting

    • Optimize AP systems and workflows to increase automation and reduce manual errors.

    • Review and analyze AP metrics; prepare regular reporting for finance leadership.

    • Support audits with timely and accurate documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).

  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable; 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Strong knowledge of AP processes, ERP systems (e.g., P21, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Excel.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve processes, and manage high volumes of transactions.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
