Youth Art Instructor
Pay: $23.05 per hour
Part-Time Recurring (Year-Round), Non-Exempt, Not Benefit Eligible

The Eagan Art House is seeking a creative and collaborative individual for our open Youth Art Instructor position.
This position teaches visual art for the Eagan Art House youth and teen classes, birthday parties, and field trips. Students are primarily ages 6 to 14. This position will implement pre-planned curriculum in a variety of media including clay, painting, and multi-media.
The Eagan Art House team is highly collaborative and committed to creative engagement for all ages throughout the community.
Hours vary and may include daytime, evening, and weekend hours.
Candidates must be available for Sunday afternoons.
Position Duties
- Enthusiastically engage students in the process of art creation
- Implement visual art curriculum for youth ages 6 – 14
- Demonstrate knowledge of hand-built clay construction
- Demonstrate a knowledge of various 2-D media including painting, drawing, and mixed media
- Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of artists, artwork styles and art history
- Promote inclusivity and diversity in a community setting
- Set up and clean up activity spaces
- Plan and request supplies and support materials as needed
- Be flexible in a variety of settings
- Ability to adapt curriculum to student’s needs and skill level
- Ability to effectively communicate with children and adults
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Understand the role of the arts in Community building
Minimum Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience teaching visual art to youth in a classroom or workshop setting
- Valid driver's license
- Must be available Sunday afternoons
Other Qualifications
- Degree or coursework leading to a degree in art or art education -OR- equivalent experience in art or art education
- Experience developing lesson plans independently
- Experience creating art in one or more mediums
- Fluency in a non-English language
Physical Requirements:
Sit, stand, talk, write, hear. Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally must climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, run, walk. Adequate vision to perform the essential functions of the job.
