Hybrid TIG Welder 1st and/or 2nd shift na G D Roberts & Co Inc

Description

Manually weld materials and components to specification with emphasis on TIG welding stainless steel. This position is part of our second shift team and will work Monday - Thursday, 1:00 PM - 11:00 PM with opportunity for overtime. 

Essential Function:

• Set up and manually operate weld machine
• Perform welding processes on aluminum, stainless steel, or mild steel as needed
• Use weld fixtures, gauges, and jigs when appropriate
• Produce production parts as per specified requirements
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, hoist or crane to move product
• Perform quality inspection to ensure parts are produced to specification
• Assist with any other duties as assigned

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• Knowledge of MIG/TIG/Resistance welding principles
• Blueprint reading 
• General manufacturing experience and knowledge of different materials
• Basic to intermediate math, computer, and written/verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of welding machine adjustments
• General knowledge of grinders, power tools and other small hand tools, including tape measure and caliper
• Read and understand prints, weld symbols, process sheets, and other documents

Physical Exposure:

• Frequent standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, and lifting
• Frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs
• Grinding sparks and dust
• Oils/solvents on materials
• Exposure to weld flash and smoke
• Sharp edges on parts or material
• Fork truck traffic
