Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will assign cases and provide support, guidance, and monitoring to Recognition Program Associates as they process requests. Ensure accurate and timely completion of work for the following programs: Special Trophies and Awards; Non-Combat Campaign Credit; Memorialization packages; High Level Decorations; Air Force Unit Awards program; requests for Awards and Decorations from veterans and active duty personnel; and mailing out medals. Support the organization in its mission to help change lives through the power of work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Train, assign work and review the daily work of team members to ensure correct procedures are followed and deadlines are met. May assist with processing work as time permits.
- Manage case file suspense dates. Maintain the balance of accuracy and timeliness.
- Track progress of work on assigned programs.
- Evaluate and respond to requests for Awards and Decorations coming through various sources to include: Congressional offices, the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC), and the Air Force Board of Correction of Military Records (BCMR).
- Evaluate and respond to Standard Form 813 (non-combat campaign) requests.
- Execute and support the Special Trophies and Awards program.
- Assist with the processing of Memorialization packages.
- Responsible for the processing of High Level Decoration Requests.
- Ensure processing of requests and mailing out of Medals to veterans.
- Support the Air Force level Unit Awards program.
- Maintain the Records Management program.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
REQUIREMENTS
- Any experience which provided skills in data entry, records research, composing correspondence and leading a team.
- In addition to the above, knowledge of Air Force Awards, Decoration and Recognition programs; Government procedures for correspondence routing; and Air Force Structures/command echelons helpful.
- MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access (basic)
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
