Position Overview
The National Account Manager – Business Development will be responsible for driving growth and profitability within our largest national accounts while identifying and cultivating new opportunities in the wholesale, retail, and ecommerce channels. This role is a balance of strategic account management and proactive new business generation, requiring a proven track record in building partnerships that deliver revenue growth.
You will serve as the primary relationship owner for assigned accounts, ensuring alignment between Inked Brands and our retail partners’ goals, while also seeking out and onboarding new high-potential accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Growth
- Serve as the primary point of contact for national retail, wholesale, and key ecommerce accounts.
- Develop and execute joint business plans to drive category expansion and brand performance.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and promotional programs to maximize account profitability.
- Monitor account performance using sales data, analytics, and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
Business Development
- Identify, research, and engage prospective accounts across retail, wholesale, and digital marketplaces.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of new opportunities aligned with Inked Brands’ portfolio strategy.
- Present product lines, seasonal launches, and partnership opportunities to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams to tailor product assortments and go-to-market strategies for new partners.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product Development, Marketing, and Operations teams to deliver tailored programs for each account.
- Ensure flawless execution of orders, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
- Provide feedback from accounts to inform product innovation and brand positioning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of national account management and/or business development experience in consumer products, wholesale, or retail.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets and grow account revenue.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing sales data and turning insights into actionable strategies.
- Experience with ecommerce platforms, retail analytics tools, and wholesale marketplaces preferred.
