We are seeking an organized and experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee the daily operations of our construction warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials and equipment to multiple construction sites. This role is critical to keeping projects on time and within budget.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Lead, manage, and supervise a team of warehouse staff, including laborers, drivers, and material handlers.
  • Delegate tasks, set daily goals, and monitor team performance to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse staff; provide coaching and disciplinary action as needed.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, changes in processes, and safety protocols.
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, tools, and equipment used in construction.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems to track and manage stock levels accurately.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with project managers, vendors, and site supervisors.
  • Ensure proper storage of materials to prevent damage, theft, or loss.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant warehouse environment.
  • Plan and forecast material needs based on project schedules.
  • Work closely with procurement and project teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Track and manage construction equipment, tools, and rental items.
  • Handle returns, damaged goods, and warranty claims efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, receiving and dispatch logs, and equipment usage.
  • Prepare regular reports for upper management regarding stock levels, team performance, and operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily based in the warehouse with regular visits to active construction sites.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and adaptability.
  • May involve heavy lifting, use of machinery, and exposure to varying temperatures.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree or certification in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in the construction or building materials sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Experience using inventory or warehouse management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Forklift certification and ability to operate heavy warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus).
