Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to the Director of Pharmacy as it relates to the operations of the pharmacy department through monitoring the activities necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of the pharmacy department, providing quality products and services to patients. 
  • Maintains responsibility for the coordination of patient services with the nursing, delivery and reimbursement departments.
  • At the direction of the Pharmacy Director, supervises pharmacy operations and coordinates departmental activities including inventory management, compounding, dispensing and clinical monitoring activities.
  • Oversees the receipt and disposition of controlled substances to comply with federal and state regulations.
  • Conducts regular clinical meetings and provides in-services to multi-disciplinary team members. 
  • Manages personnel issues for pharmacy department, coordinating staff schedules, on-call coverage, performance evaluations and exit interviews. 
  • Responsible for the appropriate purchasing, control and security of all drug products and medical supplies.
  •  Responsible for delivering clinical support/service, planning, directing and implementing business strategies
  • Collects, analyzes and reports on clinical and operations information in support of process, systems and policy redesign. 
  • Assist staff during seasonal peaks responding to criteria/clinical questions, reviewing adverse coverage determinations and complying with all regulatory requirements. 
  • This position will serve as principle support for all the various software/hardware applications throughout the hospital and work directly with different vendors to ensure uninterrupted service.  
  • Functions as a Staff Pharmacist when needed.  

Qualifications:

  • Registered Pharmacist  in the State of Florida.
  • B.S. or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy. Masters Degree preferred.
  • Completion of a 1-year pharmacy practice residency, specialty residency and/or fellowship, or at least five years of pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.
