NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.
We are looking for an Aseptic Mechanic to repair and ensure that preventative maintenance is executed on machinery and mechanical equipment. Responsible for repairs, installation, monitoring and assembling of mechanical aseptic functions. Ensures that the response time to any mechanical failure is adequate to minimize production downtime. Ensures proper preventative maintenance structure is in place and being followed. Initiates corrective actions and implements solutions to productivity performance issues. Assists area maintenance mechanics with preventive and breakdown maintenance of filling lines and processing equipment as needed. Provides individualized training to maintenance and operations staff as required. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Safety, Hot Works, Health Hazard Analysis, and Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures are followed at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
- Performs skilled preventative and predictive maintenance functions for tomato process equipment, ensuring sterility of the process.
- Analyzes and resolves mechanical problems or assists workers in solving equipment problems.
- Cleans, repairs, rebuilds, and sterilizes aseptic pumps and other aseptic equipment.
- Inspects and monitors aseptic systems while the plant is in operation.
- Ensures that preventative maintenance on equipment is executed and properly documented, and that the response time to mechanical failure is adequate to minimize production downtime.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED; technical certificate in mechanical engineering and maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of welding using STICK, TIG and/or MIG welders, & sanitary welding.
- Five years of experience and training in maintenance of industrial food processing machinery or similar equipment; or any combination of training, experience and education that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Ability to read, write and speak English (English/Spanish bilingual preferred).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, work extended schedule, and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
Compensation:
- The wage range is $35.38 - $36.44, based on experience and qualifications.
