About the Department
The Life Enrichment Class Subject Matter Expert (SME) teaches noncredit classes that are offered to the LCCC service area community members. Students are taking these courses for enrichment and lifelong learning purposes. The SME is responsible for creating course proposals in an area of expertise, knowledge and skill, and submitting these proposals in a timely manner each semester they wish to teach. They will coordinate with the Life Enrichment (LE) Program Manager and staff to ensure all details of the course are finalized and completed, including providing information on projected course materials and supplies cost to determine an appropriate class fee. They are then responsible for preparing course materials that will engage a variety of learners. Communicating with LE staff as well as students is a vital skill and professionalism is key. The Life Enrichment Class SME must also support the Life Enrichment office in ensuring all student paperwork is complete including required liability waivers, class evaluations, and other paperwork, as needed.
Compensation: Half of the tuition amount for the class.
Priority Screening Date: Position is open until filled.
Starting Date: As soon as practical after the hiring process.

- While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
- There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
- An employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be instances of somewhat loud environments.

Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or Equivalent for courses with a credentialing body.
Other Qualifications
If you are selected for the position, your appointment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. LCCC reserves the right to end this employment agreement should the results of your background investigation not be successful.
