About the Role:
Candeo is seeking a strategic and confident Director of Human Resources to join our leadership team, helping to shape the future of our organization by acting as a change agent while collaboratively leading the organization through a cultural shift with a focus on best practices and provision of exemplary services. As the Director of Human Resources, you will play a pivotal role in driving initiatives involving people and processes that foster a positive, high-performing culture while ensuring compliance and alignment with Candeo’s mission. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead efforts in talent management, employee engagement, benefits, policy development, and more, contributing to the overall success of our organization and its people.? 


What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to design and implement employee recruitment, development, and retention strategies that support organizational goals. 
  • Lead and oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to attract and develop top talent. 
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and internal policies. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor on employee-related matters, including coaching, conflict resolution, and employee relations. 
  • Conduct workplace investigations and lead the employee disciplinary process. 
  • Oversee the development and delivery of training programs to enhance employee skills and career growth. 
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs to remain competitive and cost-effective. 
  • Utilize HR metrics and reporting to inform strategic decisions and measure the impact of HR initiatives. 
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or a related field 
  • Five years of progressive experience in Human Resources  
  • Supervisory experience 
  • Two years of experience in nonprofits (preferred) 
  • Experience in staff development and training, preferred 
  • Valid Iowa Driver’s License 
  • Proof of Automobile Insurance
