Hybrid VAPA Music Teacher: Temp ELEMENTARY na Westminster School District

The Westminster School District, located in West Orange County, operates 17 schools: 13 elementary sites, three middle schools, and one site which provides preschool programs. The District has approximately 1,100 employees. The Westminster School District is recognized for high academic achievement and serves about 8,200 students, grades Preschool-8th. The district offers a broad scope of supplemental instructional programs including two dual immersion programs, GATE academy, music and band, exploratory STEAM/Coding programs, and state-of-the-art science and art facilities. Modern library-media centers, integration of technology, and specialized instruction help provide a well-balanced and rigorous curriculum to support students to become innovative, critical thinkers who readily adapt to a rapidly changing 21st-century environment.

Provide a California State standards-aligned visual and performing arts (Music, Performing/Theatre Arts, and Media/Visual Arts) program for students in the elementary grades TK-6. The VAPA teacher will provide a VAPA program for students and support for teachers in the implementation of standards-based lessons and activities in music, visual, and performing arts. Activities are to be designed to promote student VAPA skill development, enjoyment of “the Arts,” self-confidence, self-discipline, and good work habits. Note: Since this assignment includes instructional skills in all “Arts,” it is recognized that the teacher may excel in one or two areas and seek colleague partnerships to provide service in the other areas.

Applicants must have a valid California Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Music and hold a CLAD or similar authorization for instruction to English Learners. Background and experience in Music Possession of a valid California driver’s license

Placement will be on the Teacher's Salary Schedule located on Westminster School District's website. WSD provides credit for ALL previous years of similar service.
