Job Profile

The City of Cambridge is now hiring for Line Dance Instructors.  Dance instructors are required to teach recreational dance programs to adults and older adults. Dance instructors will explain and demonstrate techniques and methods of regulating movements of body to musical or rhythmic accompaniment.

What you will be doing

Plan, organize and deliver high quality safe and stimulating Line Dancing lessons for all levels of participants
Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation
Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participants
Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (e.g. attendance, incident/accident reports) Maintain a safe and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately
Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor and take appropriate action
Attend meetings/training as required Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and Knowledge

  • Must possess experience in line dancing instruction
  • Strong, professional leadership qualities that help motivate and encourage participants is required.
  • Please note that Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Current and valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check to be provided prior to commencement in this position.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)
Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.

Rate of pay

The hourly rate for this position will vary pending qualifications; however, will be within the hourly range of $20.00 to $40.00.

Hours of work

Hours are dependent on the number of participants taking part in our programs; as such, there are no minimum hours associated with this position.
