About the Department
The primary purpose of the Compliance Clerk is to manage and oversee all daily departmental operations. Establishes work procedures and standards to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the department and on assigned projects within the Clerk of Courts office and the Court (when applicable). The Compliance Clerk is to assist internal and external customers with information relating to Collections.
Position Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Clerk.
Promotes and adheres to the Mission, Vision and Values of the Clerk of Courts office.
Promotes and adheres to Clerk of Courts office Policies and Procedures.
Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.
Examines work and performance for thoroughness, neatness, and conformance of policies and procedures.
Ensures that standards for quality and quantity of work are met.
Responsible for the development, evaluation, implementation and improvement of all aspects of the Business Process and collection functions of the Clerk of Courts office.
Responsible for turning accounts over to outside third-party agencies for collection efforts and monitoring their efforts.
Works closely with the Finance Department to implement processes and policies that contribute to accurate invoicing.
Send Warrant Block to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles
Warrant Block alert and notice creation.
Set up mail for NSF communication to customers.
Capias alert and notice creation.
Walk-out Capias alert and notice creation.
Create Registration hold letters.
Time to Pay Capias alert and notice creation.
Bankruptcy notification and tracking
Input new addresses into Odyssey
Transfer Criminal Judgments into Civil Judgments for collection.
Answer questions and explain how to resolve collection efforts taken against customers.
Run reports to track collection efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years of Clerk of Court’s experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
