What you'll do:

This Team Lead needs to be a well-rounded professional with a deep understanding of wire transfer operations, strong regulatory knowledge, technical proficiency, fraud prevention skills, and effective leadership capabilities. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and secure execution of wire transfers, safeguarding the bank and its customers from financial risks.

What you’ll do:
  • Oversee and direct the daily operations of the wire transfer team, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of all incoming and outgoing domestic and international wire transfers.
  • Manage and train a team of wire specialists, providing ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to maintain high service standards and compliance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to wire transfers, including BSA/AML, OFAC, and fraud prevention protocols.
  • Resolve complex wire transfer issues and customer inquiries, acting as an escalation point for the team and collaborating with other departments (e.g., Compliance, Fraud, Customer Service) as needed.
  • Monitor and analyze wire transfer activity to identify trends, mitigate risks, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, security, and customer satisfaction.

What you need:

  • 5+ years of experience with payment systems and networks such as SWIFT, ACH, and Fedwire.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the entire wire transfer transaction lifecycle, from initiation to settlement, including the roles of different parties involved.
  • Expertise in designing and optimizing wire transfer workflows, implementing best practices for efficiency and accuracy. 
  • Expertise in using and managing the bank's wire transfer system and related software.
  • Understanding of security measures and protocols for protecting wire transfer information and preventing fraud.
  • Ability to lead and oversee system upgrades and implement technological advancements to enhance efficiency and security. 
  • Knowledge of common wire transfer fraud schemes and methods used by criminals.
  • Expertise in identifying potential fraud risks, implementing preventative measures, and investigating suspicious activities.
  • Strong understanding of verification and due diligence procedures for wire transfers, especially for new or unusual transactions
  • Ability to analyze wire transfer data, identify trends, and develop solutions to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address escalated issues, resolve disputes, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • A proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement, implementing process enhancements, and driving innovation.
