Job Description Summary

Raymond James is seeking a Principal Security Engineer with deep technical expertise in endpoint and cloud security solutions. This role encompasses the design and development of complex systems and products. The individual will oversee project planning and execution, conduct testing to ensure optimal performance, and continuously improve processes across the global organization. Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of both solution delivery and complex problem solving are essential qualifications.

Job Description

This position follows our hybrid workstyle policy: Expected to be in a Raymond James office location a minimum of 10-12 days a month.

Requirements:

• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience required with a focus on endpoint protection, cloud security, and zero trust architecture 

• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated industry

• Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell is essential for automating tasks and managing Windows environments

• In depth knowledge of CASB, SASE, DLP, and Endpoint Protection

• Intimately familiar with implementation of industry benchmarks and standards (CIS, NIST, etc)

• Basic financial models and budgeting

• CISSP Required

• CISM or CCSP are nice to have

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of engineering principles and practices, Digital Workplace Platform technologies, configuration management practices, data integrity, and security.

• Designing and Developing Systems: Involvement in the design and development of complex systems and products, creating technical specifications, conducting research and development activities, and performing simulations and analyses.

• Problem solving: Capable in applying critical thinking to solve complex problems across the organization.

• Project Planning and Execution: Overseeing the planning and execution of engineering projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.

• Testing and Performance Verification: Conducting testing of architectural design and system performance to ensure optimal performance, capacity, and efficiency.

• Staying Updated with Developments: Keeping current with developments in the field, attending workshops and conferences, and continuing education.

• Communication and Visibility: Clearly communicates with Senior leaders to present project or problem status. Assists in leading all hands meetings and being visible and inspiring to the team.

• Process Improvement: Recommending and incorporating changes to processes across the organization when necessary.

• Travel quarterly to other Corporate Office locations.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to document and communicate technical designs and solutions to senior management and other stakeholders.

• Applying effective questioning and listening techniques to determine each party’s position. Looks for common ground and builds on areas of agreement. Ensures that the agreed-upon alternatives have the support of all parties involved.

• Overseeing integration, engineering, and administration of virtual desktop and application solutions including.

Education

Bachelor’s: Computer and Information Science, Bachelor’s: Computer Engineering, High School (HS) (Required)
