Description
Responsible for overseeing core banking systems, branch operations support, learning and development, and new branch development. Oversee the development of policies and procedures impacting branch operations and lead the team that supports branches with complex technical matters and performs quality reviews of branch operations. Coordinate with the SVP Head of Branch Banking positions and oversee the Bank’s training department to ensure new and existing branch staff are adequately trained. Contribute to the Bank’s efforts to remain compliant with applicable state and federal banking regulations. This position requires that the individual work in office, independently, and with minimal supervision.
Ensures compliance within all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Maintains expert knowledge of regulations related to deposits, payments, anti-money laundering, and privacy to ensure deposit operations adhere to Bank policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations
- Ensures teams are adequately trained and internal controls are operating effectively to achieve acceptable results from internal and external audits and regulatory examinations. This is done in coordination with SVPs overseeing other deposit related departments
- Maintains expert knowledge of the Bank’s core and ancillary deposit systems and serve as strategic adviser to the direction of the systems that impact operations
- Oversees the research, development, testing, and implementation of new deposit product types
- Manages the core system vendor relationship as it pertains to deposit operations, including managing the establishment of new products and services that require vendor involvement
- Oversees the assessment and revisions to account agreements and disclosure documents for effective loss avoidance, compliance, and strategic direction
- Oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of deposit operational policies and procedures and makes decisions about appropriate operational procedures factoring in considerations for regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer service with timely modifications in response to changing regulations, revised business practices, new or revised systems, etc.
- Oversee the development of new branches following lease signing until branch opening.
- Coordinates special projects as assigned, either by directly performing the work or by overseeing direct reports, to ensure the projects are successfully completed on time and within budget
- Minimum of 10 hours CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled within business hours. This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursed
- Other duties as assigned

- Supervises multiple direct reports, which includes training, coaching, and performance management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or related field or an equivalent amount of directly related work experience
- Minimum 8 years progressive branch/deposit operations experience in the financial services or banking industry
- Minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience
- Solid technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Power Point) and banking software applications
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with proven ability to prioritize and manage workload and to instill a sense of urgency in others as necessary to meet deadlines and goals
- Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
- Sound knowledge of financial, managerial, and leadership principles with broad knowledge of banking operation practices, policies, products, and applicable regulations
- Excellent problem solving, decision making, and critical and strategic thinking skills, as well as strong attention to detail and concern for data accuracy
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong overall business acumen with an ability to understand the direction, priorities, and goals of the organization
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; presents a positive and professional image, effectively collaborates with diverse teams, and is successful at achieving results through the effort of others
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Physical/Mental Activity and Environment:
The incumbent in the course of performing this position frequently spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, operating basic business equipment, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, walking, standing, reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, client contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and frequent interruptions. The incumbent for this position will occasionally lift up to 15 pounds, pull, squat, kneel and reach. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which they are free to move about at will. The work environment is typically quiet to a moderate noise level.
Travel: There will be occasional local, out-of-area, and overnight travel.
