InterCommunity, Inc is a FQHC LA (Federally Qualified Health Center Look Alike). Our health center provides same-day primary care services to every member of the community, regardless of life situation or ability to pay. We also provide a wide array of behavioral health services.


Our community Health Care Centers are located at 281 Main St. East Hartford, 40 Coventry St. Hartford and 828 Sullivan Ave., South Windsor. InterCommunity’s Addiction Services offers a similarly wide range of substance use treatment and recovery-supportive services, with many sites in the Hartford area. 


We provide services across the spectrum of care, including primary care, residential detoxification and substance use treatment, multiple levels of residential care, outpatient substance use disorder and mental health services for adults and children, intensive outpatient programs, employment and community support, mobile crisis evaluations, judicial support services and social rehabilitation.

Summary:


The SBHC Manager oversees the daily behavioral health clinic operations. This includes staff management, scheduling, client concerns, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws, regulations and acts as a liaison to external stakeholders and resources.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Clinical staff and works collaboratively with the practice manager and medical team to ensure daily operations.
  • Completes hiring, on-boarding and performance reviews for for all behavioral health clinicians.
  • Collaborates with school social workers, nursing staff and other administrators.
  • Coordinates services with parents and children within all health centers.
  • Ensure all children seen within the SBHC are registered and proper consent is on file.
  • Manages daily processes, workflows, and systems of behavioral health components of the SBHC clinics and works with the practice manager for day-to-day operations of the SBHC.
  • Ensure staff comply with InterCommunity policies and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee the completion of mandatory reporting regarding patient care.
  • Performs monthly chart audits per clinician to ensure all regulatory and documentation standards are met. Must co-sign clinician I documentation.
  • Trains +/or collaborates with the training department for all EPIC updates, and other training courses as needed.
  • Provide clinical supervision weekly for clinician I and monthly for clinician II +/or as needed.
  • Provide ongoing communication to all staff, co-leads staff meetings.
  • Work closely with other managers and directors to ensure high quality patient care is received and staff satisfaction is achieved.
  • Train new staff on electronic medical records, policies and procedures and other clinical/ administrative tasks.
  • Review charts to ensure clinicians meet clinical documentation standards, justification for diagnosis and treatment of behavioral health.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health and substance abuse diagnostics, ethics, documentation standards and clinical treatment modalities.
  • Experience in a supervisory role, management of people, and working with children and families.
  • Experience with DSM 5 diagnostics, behavioral health screenings, how to conduct clinical intake, individual therapy, and group therapy.
  • Experience with clinical documentation standards for assessment/intake, individual therapy notes, group notes, and behavioral health screenings.
  • Provides some clinical services, and fills in for staff vacancies.
  • As a member of multi-disciplinary team within a network of community-based behavioral and primary care health services, staff will approach all aspects of the work from a culturally competent, traumatic, gender responsive and recovery-oriented perspective.
  • Performs related duties as required.

**All agency staff are required to attend all mandatory department/agency meetings and trainings.




Requirements

Education &/Or Experience:

Master’s degree in behavioral health discipline from an Accredited University and Licensure in the State of Connecticut as a

licensed clinical social worker, licensed professional counselor, or licensed marriage and family therapist (LCSW, LPC, LMFT).

Incumbents in this class must retain a license to practice clinical social work or other disciplines listed above. Previous Supervisory experience required.  Bilingual Preferred.
