Duties
You will serve as a Strategic Planning Specialist and be responsible for assisting in the overall management and administration of scheduling and product delivery for the Commandant and Vice Commandant in accordance with the Commandant's objectives and strategies. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Provide focus strategic planning and collaboration across the Commandant and Vice Commandant, synchronizing efforts of diverse teams aligned with overarching objectives. Assist the Strategic Planning Team in the development of both Commandant and Vice Commandant short- and long-term schedule in alignment with the Commandant's strategic agenda. Ensures that both the Commandant and Vice Commandant are prepared to excel in all scheduled engagements.
Requirements

Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation. This position requires a Secret clearance. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. This not a Bargaining Unit position. All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit. This position requires occasional travel away from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify at the GS-12, you must possess: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assist in the planning and development of short - and long-term strategic plans to meet deliverables to include but not limited to briefing, public appearance, meetings, speeches; 2) Perform administrative and liaison activities requiring diplomacy and prudence in execution for example resolving calendar conflicts, managing ethics determinations, coordinating Protective Service Details, etc.; 3) Coordinate unique administrative assignments between diverse internal and external groups (i.e., industry representative, special interest groups, non-profits organizations, state and local, government officials, congressional staff and senior federal officials); and 4) Prepare briefs, memos and/or other summaries analyzing complex issues to support the strategic agenda.
