Job Description
This is an exempt level position.
Position Summary:
Supervising the daily activities of safety, quality, and production procedures as well as leading employees in all aspects of production during shift.
Job Responsibilities:
- Display a hands on dedication to lead, participate, and support all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations applicable to the position.
- Be responsible for the daily plant operations, which include safety and environmental compliance, food safety, quality control, production, cost optimization and efficiencies.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate cleaning and sanitation between runs.
- Maintain good working relationships with all employees.
- Must have a complete understanding of how all departments work and their interrelationship within the facility.
- Supervise, review, and suggest/direct initiatives for continuous improvement in all areas of the Cotton Seed plant operations.
- Review employee performance and assist in employee development, including Performance Excellence integration with job duties.
- Observes equipment throughout plants and report concerns to Plant Superintendent.
- Observes equipment throughout the plants and inputs work order data as needed.
- Give positive and constructive feedback on a routine basis to all employees.
- Assist with daily production records as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Flexibility to work any shift required, including weekends and holidays as applicable.
- Flexibility and welcoming of changes in work routine.
- Ability to direct others, make timely decisions, and complete safety and work permits, as well as production logs.
- Results driven to provide support to achieve the goals established by management.
- Ability to analyze information quickly to provide feedback in the manufacturing process and troubleshoot equipment failures.
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
- Must be able to read/write/speak English, must be able to do basic arithmetic and write clearly.
- Ability to navigate and utilize Windows based computer software/programs.
- Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties.
- Capability of working in confined spaces and from heights, bending, kneeling, able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and ability to wear a respirator
