The Role:
The Batch Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Blending/Batching area and ensuring that all batches are produced to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing a team of Batch Operators, maintaining inventory accuracy, promoting safety, and ensuring the timely availability of finished products as per the Production Schedule.
What You Will Do:
- Oversee a team of Batch Operators and provide leadership and guidance in the Batch Room area.
- Develop work schedules based on the Production Schedule to ensure efficient operations.
- Continuously train and develop Batch Operators to improve their skills and performance.
- Ensure that all batches are produced according to the specified recipe and meet the highest quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Batch Room area to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor and enforce cleaning and sanitizing procedures for batching equipment as per written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain accurate records of raw chemical inventory to ensure availability for production.
- Coordinate with the Materials Department to replenish chemical supplies as needed to avoid production disruptions.
- Stay up to date with the Production Schedule and ensure that finished products are available as per the schedule.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Production Planning and Quality Control, to meet production targets.
- Oversee the safe unloading of chemicals, including Sodium Hypochlorite and other chemical deliveries.
- Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed during chemical unloading.
- Promote a culture of safety throughout the plant and enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
- Be available for overtime as needed to support production demands and address any unexpected issues.

What You Will Bring:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment.
- Understanding of safety regulations and the ability to promote a safe working culture.
- Associate's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a batch room environment.
- Previous supervisory experience is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of chemical production processes and quality control procedures.
- Familiarity with inventory management and record-keeping.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and the ability to promote a safe working culture.
- Proven track record of effective team leadership and development.
- Experience with batch production software and equipment is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 55lb
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and environments, including exposure to chemicals.
