Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team. This role will primarily focus on Accounts Payable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments. Additionally, the Accounting Clerk will serve as a backup for Payroll processing and assist with various general accounting tasks, including general ledger entries, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting support.

You will:
- Lead and own all aspects of Accounts Payable.
- Complete full cycle accounts payable processing, including receiving and verifying invoices against contracts and purchase orders, obtaining authorization, matching, coding & posting vendor invoices and processing payments.
- Record credit card transactions and reconcile them with a monthly statement.
- Record expense reports and request payment.
- Reconcile vendor statements and follow-up on past due payables for approval / resolving issues.
- Correspond with vendors for invoice discrepancies. Have invoices revised or receive credits; respond to other inquiries.
- Undertake projects in the Finance Department as assigned and participate fully in year-end audit activities.
- Assist with journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Serve as backup for payroll processing during absences or peak periods.
- Assist with general office duties such as filing, scheduling, and visitor check in.
You have:
- 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
- Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Strong decision-making skills
- High level of professionalism and communication skills; verbal, written and oral
- Experience navigating cross-functional needs and communication with colleagues, including all levels of management
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial documents and respond accordingly
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
- Comfortable learning new computer systems, Epicor (ERP) and ADP (HRIS) experience is a plus
- Adept at using the Microsoft Suite of products (Office, Outlook, Excel a must)

Environment & Physical Demands:
- Professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machine; noise level typical of a standard office environment
- Prolonged sitting, computer and telephone use, as well as standing, filing, bending, reaching and lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, etc.)
- Occasional travel required for customer and program meetings/coordination.
