About the Role:
The Electrician - Apprentice role is designed to provide hands-on training and practical experience in the electrical trade within the construction industry. The primary goal is to develop foundational skills in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair under the supervision of experienced electricians. This position plays a crucial role in supporting construction projects by ensuring electrical systems are installed safely and efficiently according to code requirements. Over time, the apprentice will gain the knowledge and expertise necessary to progress toward becoming a licensed electrician. The role offers a structured learning environment that combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction to build a successful career in the electrical field.
Pay Range: $25-$28 per hour (DOE)
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in Hagerstown, MD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience or coursework in electrical work or construction.
- Enrollment or willingness to enroll in an electrical apprenticeship or technical training program.
- Familiarity with electrical safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist journeyman electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial construction sites.
- Follow blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical codes to ensure proper installation and compliance with safety standards.
- Use hand and power tools to cut, bend, and thread conduit, pull wiring, and connect circuits under supervision.
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues to support project completion and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in ongoing training sessions.

The required skills such as basic electrical knowledge and physical stamina are essential for performing daily tasks like wiring installation and equipment handling safely and efficiently.
