SUMMARY
Precook RTE Chiller/Dicer is responsible for preparing diced product efficiently and accurately according to specifications. They will transport finished product in gondolas and package through Multivac’s. Responsible for setting up, operating, or tending to machine that chills, mixes, and dices bacon. Provides day-to-day assistance to Supervisor/Management in meeting production and quality requirements. Responsible for understanding Daily’s GMP’s and safety policies. Additionally, may rotate job stations within Precook department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
- Set up, operate, or tend to machines that produce diced product
- Distribute product evenly into dicer
- Perform a variety of tasks that require manual material handling and the use of hand tools, shovels, and pitch forks
- Package finished product according to specifications
- Understand bacon specification requirements to ensure quality
- Work at a pace consistent with line speeds
- Keep accurate records as needed
- Maintain accurate counts
- Minimize scrap at all times
- Follow procedures outlined by Department Supervisor/Department Lead
- Follow Daily’s attendance and punctuality rules
- Follow Daily’s Good Manufacturing Processes
- Follow Daily’s Safety guidelines as outlined in Safety Handbook
- Rotates job stations within Precook Department
- May be required to assist in other areas based on business need
- Perform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Daily’s business objectives
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
- Must consistently follow company rules and procedures and ensure consistency with product specifications
- Performs a variety of tasks that require manual material handling and the use of hand tools, knives, hooks, machinery, and equipment
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred
- Basic math skills including ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Capability of working with and calculating percentages
- Able to adhere to specifications
- Must have superior attendance record
- May not have any company disciplinary write ups within the past 6 months
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be willing and able to handle raw and cooked product
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 lbs and occasionally lift and/or push up to 50 lbs
- Standing and walking for up to 10 hours a day on concrete and wet surfaces
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Temperature variations – average of 40 degrees. Exposure to noise above 85 dbl (hearing protection required).
WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work as scheduled.
