PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Install Service and Repair Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Service and Repair Department, ensuring high-quality installation, repair, and servicing of heavy-duty trailer components and Aero Tarp Systems. This role is responsible for supervising technicians, coordinating workflow, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Supervisor acts as the primary liaison between technicians, plant leadership, and customers to ensure efficient operations and superior customer service.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervision & Leadership
    • Directly supervise, train, and mentor Service and Repair Technicians.
    • Assign daily work orders, set priorities, and ensure timely completion of jobs.
    • Monitor technician performance and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee the scheduling, coordination, and execution of service and repair jobs.
    • Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials in compliance with company procedures.
    • Review service orders for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Aero quality standards.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and compliance checks.
  • Customer Service
    • Serve as point of contact for customer inquiries related to service and repair.
    • Communicate job status updates, timelines, and cost estimates as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
    • Collaborate with leadership to develop training programs and technical resources for technicians.
  • Other Duties
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    • Assist in hands-on repairs and installations as needed.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Highschool diploma or GED/Highschool Equivalency required.
  • Experience in the heavy-duty truck/trailer repair industry or similar mechanical repair environment.
  •  2+ years of supervisory or lead technician experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, installation procedures, and repair techniques.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical and installation issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain housekeeping and machine/tool upkeep to Aero standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and service manuals.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, as needed, regarding necessary work and prepare service orders.
  • Ability to operate and use a variety of machinery and tools to repair and/or replace product components and kits.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places.  The employee is occasionally exposed to a high level of heat/humidity conditions due to working in a non-climate-controlled facility. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee must be able to stand and walk for long periods up time (up to 8-10 hours per day), reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. Must also be able to bend and twist, as necessary. 


The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
