At Illume Fertility, we provide advanced reproductive care in a supportive, patient-centered environment. As a Financial Counselor, you’ll play a key role in empowering patients with the financial knowledge they need to make informed decisions about their care.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a financial guide for patients throughout their fertility journey, primarily through phone, email, and in-person consultations
- Verify insurance benefits, confirm eligibility, and explain coverage details
- Review treatment plans and calculate out-of-pocket costs (e.g., copays, deductibles, IVF/IUI cycle payments)
- Clearly present financial agreements, consent forms, and available payment options
- Collaborate with billing and coding teams to ensure accuracy in documentation and timely account follow-up
- Track and maintain patient financial records in accordance with clinic policy and compliance regulations
- Support daily administrative or revenue cycle operations as needed
What You Bring
- 2–4 years of experience in a medical office, ideally in financial counseling, billing, or insurance verification
- Proficiency in reviewing Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), payer remittances, and handling patient inquiries regarding balances or denials
- Excellent communication skills with a patient-first mindset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; EMR/EHR experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent healthcare experience preferred
- Previous experience in OB/GYN, fertility, or other specialty practice is highly desirable
