Position Overview:
As the VP of Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in driving both customer acquisition and retention strategies within 4ocean's B2B partnership model. You will be responsible for developing and executing performance marketing campaigns to attract new partners, while also managing the retention and success of our existing partnerships. This role demands a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable with accountability, and has a proven track record of scaling marketing efforts and partnership success.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Acquisition (Lead Generation)
- Website & Digital Presence Management:
- Oversee the 4ocean Partnerships website, ensuring it aligns with our mission, attracts new leads, and showcases the value of partnering with 4ocean.
- Lead the optimization of landing pages, funnels, and the overall online user experience for lead generation.
- Manage and direct our SEO, UX optimization, and digital content strategy
- Advertising & Performance Marketing:
- Design and manage paid marketing strategies across channels like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and additional performance marketing channels.
- Develop and implement guerilla marketing tactics to engage new prospects and partners.
- Partnership Sales Tools and Assets:
- Ensure that the necessary tools and assets (Canva decks, landing pages, supporting videos, info graphics and others) are created and finalized in a timely fashion ideally 1-2 days for routine requests and 1 week or so for larger projects.
- Trade Shows & Event Strategy:
- Plan and execute 4ocean’s presence at trade shows, conferences, and sponsored events to generate high-quality leads.
- Oversee event activations and marketing campaigns to maximize awareness and partner acquisition.
- Influencer & Affiliate Partnerships:
- Cultivate relationships with existing and new partners, influencers, and affiliates to co-create campaigns that drive awareness and lead generation.
- Leverage partnerships and affiliate networks for cross-promotion and lead acquisition.
- Email & Social Media Marketing:
- Lead email list management and segmentation for lead nurturing, optimizing campaigns to move prospects through the funnel.
- Oversee organic social media strategies to engage prospective partners and amplify brand messaging.
- Lead Metrics & Reporting:
- Own and track performance metrics and analytics for lead generation, including cost per acquisition, lead quality, and campaign performance.
- Regularly report on KPIs, optimizing campaigns for maximum efficiency and return on investment.
Customer Retention (Partner Success & Activation):
- Onboarding & Partner Support:
- Manage the onboarding process for new partners, ensuring they have all the tools and resources they need to succeed from day one.
- Develop comprehensive training materials and support systems to facilitate successful partner activation.
- Partner Activation & Marketing Resources:
- Provide partners with key marketing resources such as landing pages, hero videos, and promotional materials that highlight their commitment to sustainability and ocean cleanup.
- Proactively deliver tailored support to help partners successfully execute their own marketing strategies.
- Partner Retention & Satisfaction:
- Lead efforts to ensure high retention rates by fostering strong, long-term relationships with partners.
- Establish key performance indicators for partner success, ensuring that partners are activated and engaged at a high level.
- Success Metrics & Reporting:
- Track and report on partner performance metrics, focusing on retention rates, partner satisfaction, and overall impact achieved (pounds of plastic recovered).
- Provide actionable insights to internal teams to refine strategies and improve retention.
Scalable Growth & Partnership Expansion:
- Scalable Systems, Processes, & Tools:
- Develop scalable marketing processes and systems to ensure 4ocean’s partnership marketing function can grow with the business.
- Identify and implement new tools and platforms that enable efficient management of the growing partner network.
- Develop and oversee the necessary processes, platforms and calendars to ensure that all deadlines and deliverables are met in advance or on time.
- Partnership Expansion:
- Seek and secure new partnerships in complementary verticals, expanding 4ocean’s reach and impact.
- Develop strategies for deepening existing partnerships and identifying new growth opportunities within current networks.
- Market Research & Competitive Intelligence:
- Conduct market research to understand emerging trends and competitor strategies in sustainability and B2B partnerships.
- Use insights to adapt and refine marketing efforts, ensuring 4ocean remains a leader in the ocean cleanup space.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with the sales, operations, and product teams to ensure alignment and clear communication across all partnership efforts.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring that 4ocean’s partnerships are well-supported and nurtured.
4ocean Global Brand Development and Overall 4ocean Marketing
- Vision and Strategy to Grow the 4ocean Brand
- Provide the overall vision for growing the 4ocean global brand and ensure the necessary coordination between 4ocean PBC, Ecommerce and 4ocean foundation and any future business units.
Requirements
- 10+ years of marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role focused on B2B partnerships, performance marketing, or customer acquisition/retention.
- Proven track record of scaling marketing operations and managing high-performance teams.
- Strong experience with digital marketing channels, including paid advertising, SEO, content marketing, email campaigns, and social media strategies.
- Ability to develop and execute growth strategies for new lead acquisition and long-term partner retention.
- Experience managing partnerships and understanding the needs of B2B clients.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and optimize marketing strategies based on performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Preferred:
- Experience in sustainability marketing, particularly in the areas of plastic neutrality and environmental impact.
- Experience with marketing automation platforms and CRM tools.
- Familiarity with performance metrics related to B2B partnership success, including ROI and impact reporting.
