Position: Full time, 40 hours, day shift. Hourly rate, non-exempt, non union 



Job Functions

GENERAL MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Demonstrate ability to support the broad array of software, technology, networks, and related systems and be able to trouble shoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  2. Use critical thinking to bring solutions and recommendations to identified challenges or problems.
  3. Support projects as needed such as implementation, decommissioning, or other duties as they arise.

 SPECIFIC MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support and maintain network hardware such as routers, firewalls, wireless access points and switches. 
  2. Maintain set up and troubleshoot issues with the telephone system, voicemail, and faxing.
  3. Resolve issues that arise related to network connectivity, VPN, storage and back up and other related issues.
  4. Set up or update employee configurations for workstations including login information, Active Directory, Multifactor authentication if needed, following current PVH policies for access.
  5. Set up and trouble shoot printers, scanners, fax machines or other communication devices.
  6. Assist with maintaining documentation related to the current environment, processes and procedures, account information, or FAQ guides for continuity of operations.
  7. Support day to day operations with end users and networked environment. 
  8. Participate in on-call rotation for night and weekend coverage.
  9. Performs other tasks as assigned

QUALITY IMPROVEMENT:

Actively participates in the Hospital-wide Quality Improvement Program, actively supports and implements Department-specific Quality Improvement initiatives and projects, recommends process improvement as appropriate, reports any quality issues in service delivery, and consistently commits to a focus on quality.


EMERGENCY / DISASTER MANAGEMENT: 

As an employee of Penobscot Valley Hospital, the position has an inherent role in caring for our community members when they are in need. In this regard, the incumbent will be expected to participate in emergency/disaster preparedness planning and drills as requested. When called upon during a real-life disaster/emergency event, the incumbent will be expected to participate in the Hospital’s response to this event within the scope of professional and personal ability to do so.


Requirements

CREDENTIALS:

Minimum 2-year experience in information systems support. Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Healthcare experience preferred. Bachelors degree preferred.
