POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for supporting key mission-focused activities across the department, including VOTE411.org, GOTV (Get Out the Vote) activities, civic education, election administration, voter registration, partnership development, training, and the Democracy Truth Project. The coordinator will work in close partnership with other LWV teams that provide support to state and local Leagues across the county on voter registration, pro-democracy, civics education, and other election-related initiatives, with a racial justice lens. This position reports to the Chief of Civic Learning and Impact.
The salary for this position is $67,000.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist with implementing and monitoring various projects and activities across the Civic Learning and Impact Department, including training, maintaining documentation that tracks impact, and data entry and maintenance.
· Lead and/or assist in the preparation of briefing materials, progress reports, background information, case studies, presentations, research and project updates for department leads.
· Support department leads in coalition and partner organization engagement, internal and external events, and large projects.
· Support department administration, including planning and executing department planning sessions and regular meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel.
· Facilitate connections between campaign finance APIs and the VOTE411.org candidate and ballot measure information and provide quality control oversight to ensure datasets are correctly integrated.
· Monitor and support the grant process with state and local Leagues as well as the invoicing process for VOTE411.org.
· Provide administrative and technical assistance (particularly with webinar software and/or voter file database) to other staff as well as to state and local Leagues.
· Answer and screen telephone calls and assigned public mailboxes in accordance with general guidance provided by department leads.
· Travel will be required to facilitate in-person attendance for mandatory meetings and events 2-4 times annually.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
· 2-5 years of experience in administrative support, in an assistant or coordinator role. Nonprofit experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
· A minimum of two years of experience in project implementation.
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and complete multiple, deadline-driven concurrent tasks when due, as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
· Excellent interpersonal, customer service, oral and written communication skills emphasizing respectful and tactful communication.
· Must understand and be willing to commit to the LWVUS’ mission of empowering voters and defending democracy.
· Must have a passion for working with communities of color and an ability to apply a racial equity lens to all activities.
· Expertise with Microsoft Office and Office 365 required.
· Experience with VAN, Salesforce, Engaging Networks, website back-end systems, Zoom, and OutreachCircle a plus.
· Experience in grassroots or field/political organizing and/or nonprofit environments desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery. The person must also be available to travel to / for purposes of supporting movement building activities and walking longer distances to offices and events. Constantly operates a laptop/computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
