Mini-Circuits designs, manufactures and distributes integrated circuits, modules, and sub-systems for high-performance radio frequency (RF) and microwave applications. With design, sales and manufacturing locations in over 30 countries, Mini-Circuits’ products are used in a range of wired and wireless communications applications. Our products are also used in detection, measurement and imaging applications, including military communication, guidance and electronic countermeasure systems, commercial, scientific, military land, sea and aircraft; automotive systems, medical systems, and industrial test equipment.

Mini-Circuits’ sells its products to over 20,000 customers globally through our direct sales force, applications engineering staff, sales representatives, as well as through our extensive website.    

Position Summary:
Responsible for managing, maintaining and implementing company-wide EHS program. This includes frequent interactions with staff levels to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local Laws. Continually evaluate all engineering, manufacturing and production processes, facility structures and company procedures related to employee safety, personal protective equipment, hazardous materials and emergency response.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year

Job Function:
  • Manage hazardous materials onsite with the mandated reporting and record keeping requirements.
  • Leads site emergency response activities (e.g. emergency response program, update member phone contact list monthly).
  • Assist in managing dosimeter and radiation safety compliance under the supervision of the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).
  • Ensure compliance with chemical handling and storage, recycling and disposal.
  • Provide recommendations for compliance with OSHA and EPA, along with all other federal, state and local agencies regulating health, safety and environmental issues in the workplace.
  • Manage fire safety systems (fire sprinkler, fire alarm, fire suppression and fire extinguishers) are maintained according to federal, state and local regulations.
  • Implement and manage all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures are implemented and distributed to designated Mini-Circuits facilities and departments.
  • Provides continuous review and oversight of all health and safety procedures and programs to maintain compliance by all personnel, including but not limited to participation in site management meetings, implementation and training of programs.
  • Implement and manage emergency response plans and oversees safety committee activities.
  • Assist in the completion of all compliance reports (e.g. TRI, RTK, OSHA 300) filed with regulatory agencies on a timely basis.
  • Manage and implement management of change.
  • Manages industrial hygiene program and conduct hazard assessment of processes to ensure appropriate personal protective equipment and exhaust ventilation needs, including partnering with vendors to schedule and conduct assessments and proper fit (e.g. respirator fit program).
  • Successfully complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
  • Assist in leading incident investigations for safety and environmental incidents, make recommendations for corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Maintain the AED management program, conduct monthly AED inspections and annual tabletop training of First Aid, CPR and AED
  • Coordinate waste pick-ups with vendors as needed to remain in compliance (frequency dictated by generator status).
  • Manage and maintain safety data sheet database and new chemical request processes.

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or related fields; bachelor's degree preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of experience as a safety leader in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understands the functions of the various regulatory agencies.
  • Understands all publications, manuals, code books and documents employed in the regulatory process governing health and safety.
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
