JOB STATEMENT: The Warehouse/Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s southern California warehouse and distribution facility. The role ensures productivity targets are met and that warehouse processes are running smoothly, safely, and in compliance with all company standards and applicable regulations. The Manager will play a key leadership role in optimizing distribution strategies, managing inventory accuracy, and leading a team of warehouse staff in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Essential FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan and coordinate daily warehouse operations including receiving, order fulfillment, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate warehouse staff to ensure productivity, accuracy, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage warehouse layout and workflow to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, inventory turnover, and on-time shipments.
  • Oversee inventory cycle counts, reconciliations, and reporting to ensure stock accuracy and minimize shrinkage.
  • Partner with transportation teams to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries and pickups.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements for warehouse and distribution activities.
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of DSD operations, including fleet scheduling, dispatching, routing, and real-time delivery monitoring.
  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of DSD drivers and support staff to ensure consistent, on-time, and damage-free deliveries.
  • Develop and maintain optimized delivery routes using routing software and data analytics to reduce mileage, delivery time, and fuel usage.
  • Serve as the main logistics liaison between warehouse/distribution centers and customer store locations to align delivery priorities.
  • Implement logistics best practices and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce delivery costs.
  • Maintain DSD compliance with DOT, OSHA, company fleet policies, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze KPIs such as on-time delivery, driver performance, route productivity, and service failures to ensure operational success.
  • Partner with internal departments (Warehouse, Transportation, Customer Service) to resolve delivery issues, shortages, returns, and route discrepancies.
  • Ensure all DSD technology, including handheld systems and route management software, is used effectively by field teams.
  • Manage vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance schedules, and vendor relationships for fleet service and repair.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
  • Solid understanding of shipping/receiving, inventory control, and logistics practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and operate in warehouse and office environments.
  • Must be able to travel within California up to 40% of the time.

Qualifications


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

  • 3-5+ years of Supply Chain, Logistics, Distribution Management or other relevant experience
  • Supply Chain, Business, or Economics are preferred major fields
  • Proven work experience in a quantitatively-heavy role
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Access
  • Effective Communication and Technical Writing
  • Ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity and the ability to work independently
  • Experience working with, and presenting to, senior executives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; be comfortable interacting with executive-level management
  • Strong financial modeling experience
