The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) is a service agency supporting the county’s 23 school districts that serve nearly 430,000 students. RCOE provides administrative support to districts, leads programs for preschool, special education, pregnant minor, corrections, migrant, and vocational students, and offers professional training, support and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff throughout Riverside County.

Job Summary

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Mentor/Coach plays a critical role in ensuring student success by providing job-imbedded and ongoing professional development for teachers. Under the direct supervision of the Early Education Director, the Mentor/Coach will participate in providing support to the teaching staff of the Early Education Programs. The Mentor/Coach will be responsible for assisting classroom staff in meeting the educational services as required by Head Start Performance Standards, Terms and Conditions of California Department of Education, and Community Care Licensing. Mentor/Coach would play an essential role as an Education/Curriculum Specialist and would be the trainer of trainers in their respective area. This is designated as a Certificated Management position and is part of the Management Leadership Team.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience in a child development/child care center program required; and a minimum of one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience in a child development/child care center that would demonstrate the ability to perform described duties and responsibilities of the position. Verified experience required for permit/credential. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Early Childhood or related field is required. CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES: • Possession of a valid California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit • Valid California Driver’s License You must provide copies of permit/credential as required for position or provide evidence of qualifying for required permit/credential with your application materials to qualify for the position.

Salary Info

Doctorate Degree: $80,092 - $87,748 Annually ($1,200 Annual Stipend)
