Riverside Research has an enduring legacy of excellent support to the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community and our managers are crucial to that success. In our Applied Mathematics and Physics Solutions group we are looking for an experienced Program Manager to lead research and development (R&D) programs. This individual will manage a technically diverse and geographically distributed team, foster customer relationships, and oversee financials, cost, and schedule for a variety of projects and contracts. This position requires a leader with a proven track record of providing their staff growth opportunities by identifying, capturing, and winning new contract work in addition to on-contract growth to expand the contract portfolio they oversee. Candidate will provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance for our team members at our facilities in Ohio (Dayton), New York (NYC), Illinois (Champaign), and Virgina (Fairfax).
Responsibilities:- Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of a portfolio focused on computational electromagnetics (CEM) R&D, software development, and RF modeling, simulation, and analysis
- Independently execute program management duties that include, but are not limited to, managing day-to-day operations, maintaining work plans and timelines, tracking and projecting program spending, preparing status reports/briefs, coordinating with internal support resources, managing subcontracting, consulting and procurement activities and ensuring program status is communicated to all stakeholders
- Collaborate with customers and Principal Investigators to define program scope and technical milestones, prioritize tasking based on strategic value and resource availability and develop long-term strategies
- Establish and maintain effective customer relationships with a variety of stakeholders
- Supervise and mentor a geographically distributed, technically diverse team
- Assess program issues and develop resolutions to meet schedule, quality, and customer goals and communicate to all stakeholders
- Identify and capture growth opportunities to expand business portfolio and support grant writing and proposal development
- Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications:
- Active Security Clearance, TS/SCI with poly
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, computer science, or related fields with at least 12 years of technical experience or PhD and 5 years relevant experience
- 3+ years of program management experience on research and development contracts for the Department of Defense/Intelligence Community
- 5+ years of experience supervising a technically diverse team
- Proven track record of identifying, capturing, and solidifying new work along with on-contract growth opportunities
- Experience managing teams, subcontractors, consultants, and procurement activities
- Experience in proposal development process
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation across multiple projects
- Excellent communication, organizational and leadership skills
Desired qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in physics, engineering, computer science or related fields with at least 8 years of technical experience
- Experience managing software development programs
- Experience supervising remote teams
