Overview: Serves as Assistant Director for the Early Childhood Education program and provides support to the Director of Early Childhood Education and department. This position is responsible for overseeingand supporting early childhood education (ECE) student engagement, teaching andlearning, and family support. Key duties include supporting students withspecial needs and their families, guiding the IEP process when needed,supporting curriculum and assessment implementation, and leading professionaldevelopment initiatives. The role involves direct supervision of staff,conducting evaluations, addressing performance concerns, and assisting inhiring and personnel decisions. It also includes communicating with families,maintaining compliance documentation, and collaborating on events and familyengagement efforts. The position provides classroom coverage as needed andplays a key role in day-to-day program operations and continuous improvement.
Essential Functions
ECE Program Oversight
- Oversees andevaluates programs and interventions for all students, including the IEPprocess and interventions; conducts routine classroom observations and providesfeedback to teachers
- Overseescurriculum and assessment, providing expertise and advice as required
- Co- developsand coordinates professional development in-service programs and monthly StaffMeetings with the Director of Early Childhood Education, focusing on teachingstrategies
- Leads monthly meetings with Lead Teachers to plan forupcoming events, compliance needs, and professional development.
- Providesperformance evaluations for all direct reports, through goal establishment,observation, one-on-one meetings, and written performance appraisals. Coachesstaff through professional difficulties interfering with job performance. Escalatesissues to the Director of Early Childhood Education or the Director of Programsas needed. Direct reports include Lead Teachers and/or Classroom Assistants.
- Supports andcreates behavior and education plans for students with special needs/specialsupports
- Attends to children’s overall well-being,connecting with families on the Center’s sick policy
- Collaborates with the ECE Director and SFCC Leadership toplan and implement Special Events, which may include evenings and weekends
- Maintains bulletin board for Parents/Guardians withcurrent events and other useful information
- Indirectlyoversees 20+ lead teachers and classroom assistants; supporting the ECEDirector with decisions related to hiring, corrective action and promotion
- Other duties as assigned
ECE Program Compliance
- Partners with the ECE Director to prepare and sendparent communications through ProCare
- Participates in interviews for ECE program candidates, as requested by the ECE Director
- Collaborates with the ECE Director and Human Resources to ensure employee timecards are completed in a timely manner
- Participates in all required trainings and maintains necessary credentials required to provide emergency coverage in the classrooms
- Prepares and transmits child enrollmentinformation for monthly Child Care Counts grant reports in collaboration withthe Director of Early Childhood Education
- Providescoverage in classrooms on an as needed basis
- Other duties as assigned

Required Education/License/Certifications
- Bachelor'sdegree required, preferably in education or business administration
- Twoor more years of related leadership experience Early Childhood Education

- Intermediatecomputer skills. Experience with Office 365, Procare, and ADP Workforce Nowstrongly preferred
- Abilityto adjust to various work and schedule changes, as needed, including occasionalevening and/or weekend work
