This is an ideal position for an individual searching for an exciting career opportunity in a dynamic and rapidly growing global Agtech company. The Electrician position is a permanent position based at our production facility and offices in Wellington, Western Cape. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in a liquid, dry, and kelp fertiliser production environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Installing and electrically wiring all factory equipment.
- Testing all electrical equipment to ensure they are working correctly.
- Operating machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move heavy loads.
- Complying with health and safety regulations.
- Minimising equipment and production downtime.
- Attending to all electrical breakdowns.
- Carry out routine electrical inspections and checks on portable and fixed electrical equipment, DB’s boards, etc., on a weekly and monthly basis
- Running preventative maintenance by identifying and correcting potential electrical issues.
- All electrical work to be carried out according to SANS-10142-1
- Performing routine tests and inspections on electrical equipment according to safety regulations.
- Installation, maintenance, repair, design, and wiring of electrical systems.
- Accurately and timeously completing Job Cards when tasks are completed.
- Ad Hoc or other related duties as assigned.

- Good aptitude in working with all tools required for completing tasks.

- Able to read, interpret, and follow electrical drawings.
- Effective organisation and prioritising of tasks.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with routine work but flexible enough to adjust to ad hoc situations.
- Must be able to think creatively and come up with innovative ideas.
- Strong electrical aptitude, including the ability to use various electrical testing equipment.
- Willing to take ownership of tasks and lead assisting team members.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- National Senior Certificate
- N2 Electrical National Certificate
- Recognised Electrical Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal) as a 3 Phase Electrician as obtained in South Africa.
- Wireman’s license will be advantageous.
Experience
- 0-3 years post-trade experience
Other specific requirements
- Full professional proficiency in Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
- Computer literate
- Must have own reliable transport and valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to perform standby duties as required.
- Must be willing to work overtime.
- Must be willing to work at heights.
- Forklift license is advantageous.
