Job purpose

The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of network systems across Vaultex. This role ensures the stability, security, and high availability of the company’s network infrastructure to support core business operations and future scalability. The engineer will play a key role in monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and delivering technical solutions that meet evolving organisational needs.

Main responsibilities:

  • Configuring and Installing Network Devices: This includes routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, wireless access points.
  • Network Maintenance and Upgrades: Performing system upgrades, applying patches, and ensuring security configurations are up to date.
  • Monitoring Network Performance: Ensuring system availability and reliability, and monitoring resource utilization and capacity planning.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Providing Level 2/3 support to resolve network issues and working within established change management policies.
  • Security Implementation: Selecting and implementing security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the security team

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of network protocols, wireless networking, network security and telephony
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with team members, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Network Engineering Experience: Proven experience in network engineering
  • Networking Protocols: Deep understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and Routing
  • Monitoring and Diagnostic Tools: Experience with network diagnostic and analytics tools

Desirable

  • Use of technologies such as FortiManager, Palto Alto Firewalls, Juniper Switching/Routing, Meraki WiFi, Solarwinds.
