Summary  

The Southwest Strategies Group is seeking a full-time Manager to join our Los Angeles team. The Manager leads strategic client support and project delivery in the infrastructure space, coordinating across agencies, stakeholders, and internal teams to drive growth, ensure high-quality outreach, and advance impactful infrastructure initiatives.  We are seeking an individual who is ready to support unique communications needs by developing tailored strategies and tactics that get results. We want strong writers and researchers – those who enjoy jumping in and learning everything they can about a client or project.

Position:  

Location and Travel: This person must be located within LA County. This role is primarily remote with varying expectations of visits to satellite offices and clients. Travel is required up to 15-20% of the time. This role will include early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.   


 Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000 (dependent on experience)   


Responsibilities: 

  • Support executive team members on public outreach and infrastructure projects  
  • Serve as a day-to-day contact for clients, maintaining communication, sharing updates, supporting client needs, and building trusted relationships  
  • Manage workstreams across multiple projects, including task delegation, deadline tracking, and quality assurance  
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop messaging, outreach strategies, and communication plans that incorporate community and stakeholder engagement  
  • Contribute to strategy development and support execution of outreach campaigns, including managing timelines, drafting materials, and coordinating logistics  
  • Develop engaging content and collateral for outreach, including digital campaigns  
  • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and external partners to support outreach and project success  
  • Work closely with designers to ensure outreach materials align with branding and campaign goals  
  • Monitor and flag potential issues; support development of response strategies during crisis or emergency communications  
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, research, and attending relevant community events  
  • Stay informed on current events, political developments, and best practices in public affairs and communications  
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements
  • 5+ years of previous Public Affairs or Community Relations experience required  
  • Proven success in managing strategic outreach campaigns  
  • Experience managing project team of 2-3 employees 
  • Previous public relations agency experience preferred 
  • Experience with transportation, water or energy clients or projects preferred 
Salary Description
Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000
