Description

Position Summary

The Biosecurity Program Director is responsible for driving the flawless execution of key initiatives and strategies throughout the CDC biosecurity program. They ensure all operating units are able to effectively execute new and existing process at all times, while maintaining flexibility. They are tasked with the oversight and on-the-ground leadership responsibilities as it relates the operation of each CDC Biosecurity station.

Position Responsibilities

Creating the Right Environment

1. Responsible for building strong support relationships with all field team managers to ensure operational initiatives are executed by field teams 

2. Training teams on how to achieve set targets.

3. Support in recruiting efforts, specifically local recruiting activity including job fairs and related career initiatives as directed by the People Team

4. Perform monthly and quarterly policy reviews to ensure our operating units have up to date compliance information in partnership with People Team and Operations Leaders.

Leveraging Individual and Team Development to Grow

1. Providing onsite “in the moment” process and procedure coaching to local teams during regular site visits

2. Establishing a regular cadence of site audits across all units to ensure operational process is being executed. 

3.  Managing customer care issues to ensure all locations are practicing high quality customer care. 

Work with local teams in partnership with People Team to ensure onboarding and training is occurring at all units in a timely and effective manner

Achieving Measurable Results and Optimizing Financial Performance

1. Serving as a local market implementation leader for any pilot or initiative that is launched and driven by Operations including exploring new markets, expansion of flights or operational hours, new procedures, and products. 

2. Working with Operations to communicate field level reporting determined relevant for the business and providing critical analysis of key measures designed to drive process and participant throughput

3. Providing real-time support including but not limited to, inventory deficiencies, equipment/connectivity issues, staffing emergencies, etc.

4. Serving as lead implementation specialist for all unit-level openings and closings to ensure checklists are executed and real-time issues are resolved. 

Effectively Navigating through Change and Dealing with Ambiguity

1. Effectively communicates business or process changes to all unit level managers.

2. Troubleshooting common field operations issues that impact units on a daily basis.

3. Responsible for effectively communicating all business operations issues with Director of Operations, to ensure issues are resolved in a timely matter.

4. Is viewed as a champion and key partner by the Bio Surveillance field organization and is responsible for driving process and operational performance improvement. 

Building Brand Loyalty Through Above and Beyond Customer Service

1. Responsible for developing and fostering relationships with the airport operations and local CDC quarantine station leaders

2. Responsible for building strong relationships with our partners and become a liaison between the Ginkgo and XpresCheck teams

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

1. Demonstrated proficiency in project management; must have initiated and managed a project from inception to execution 

2. Must be naturally inquisitive with a proven ability to see something and identify a solution that improves execution or efficiency

3. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate up and down in the business; must be able to distill detail into relevant data points for leaders and translate strategy into detailed operating plans for field level execution with a proven capability of both

4. Prior operating experience is essential; single unit in a complex retail environment with a large inventory to manage. Prior multi-unit experience is a plus but not essential
