Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Business Alignment
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the President and executive team on workforce planning, organization design, and human capital ROI.
- Lead organizational transformation efforts, including restructuring, operational optimization, and cultural alignment.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the President and executive leadership team, translating business strategy into impactful people initiatives.
- Lead the evolution of HR into a data-driven, digitally enabled function that accelerates business performance.
- Partner with Finance, Operations, and IT to align human capital strategy with growth, productivity, and innovation goals.
Labor & Employee Relations
- Lead union strategy across all operations, including contract negotiations, labor relations, grievance handling, and compliance.
- Establish trusted relationships with union leaders while advocating for company interests and maintaining workforce harmony.
- Advise site leadership on labor trends, risks, and mitigation strategies in partnership with legal and compliance teams.
Talent & Leadership Development
- Oversee enterprise-wide workforce planning strategies to ensure internal pipeline strength and capability while partnering with TA leadership to ensure successful external candidate engagement.
- Drive leadership development, succession planning, and executive coaching to build strong internal leadership.
- Implement high-performance systems that reinforce accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement.
Organizational Development
- Lead cultural transformation initiatives that support business agility, productivity, and operational alignment.
- Partner with functional leaders to foster an environment of innovation, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Facilitate M&A integration efforts from a human capital perspective as needed.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations
- Oversee development of competitive and sustainable compensation and benefits strategies that drive employee retention and performance.
- Ensure HR operations are data-driven, scalable, and compliant across all jurisdictions.
- Leverage analytics and workforce insights to guide strategic decision-making and enhance business outcomes.
Payroll Oversight
- Direct and oversee payroll operations to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant processing for all employees.
- Partner with Finance to align payroll practices with financial reporting, budgeting, and audit requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and system controls are in place to support compliance with FLSA, IRS regulations, and state/local tax laws.
Digital Transformation & Change Management
- Champion the digitalization of HR processes (e.g., HRIS, workforce analytics, learning tech) to improve speed, scalability, and user experience.
- Lead workforce readiness initiatives to support Industry 4.0, automation, and advanced manufacturing capabilities.
- Support cultural and organizational change initiatives to embed digital fluency and agility across the workforce.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field required; or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with 7+ years at the executive level in a manufacturing or industrial organization.
- Demonstrated success leading HR in a unionized, multi-site, and operationally complex environment.
- Exceptional business acumen with the ability to interpret financials, contribute to P&L discussions, and influence business strategy.
- Proven track record of using HR as a lever to drive business outcomes in high-performance environments.
- Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Certifications:
- SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent credentials preferred.
