In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

The Annual Giving Assistant will play an important role in supporting the Office of Annual Giving’s fundraising and engagement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to take on a visible leadership role within LEAP (Leaders in Engagement and Philanthropy), Berklee’s student-led philanthropy and engagement organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Video & Digital Messaging: 

  • Film personalized video messages for donors using the ThankView platform
  • Draft and edit scripts and email copy for ThankView messages tailored to specific audiences, incorporating both engagement and stewardship touchpoints. 
  • LEAP Leadership: Serve as lead student representative and point person for LEAP, guiding fellow members in planning and executing engagement and philanthropy-related events on campus.
  • Attend and actively participate in all LEAP meetings 
  • Help develop and deliver monthly presentations on relevant engagement and philanthropy topics with guidance from the Annual Giving Team 
  • Mentor and coordinate LEAP student volunteers in executing campus events, tablings, and outreach efforts 

Student Engagement & Events: 

  • Assist in planning and promoting student philanthropy initiatives such as Giving Day
  • Mobilize and recruit student volunteers for video shoots, tablings, and donor engagement efforts 
  • Act as a visible and enthusiastic ambassador of student giving across campus Database & Administrative Support: 
  • Enter data and notes into Raiser’s Edge NXT, Berklee’s advancement database
  • Assist with mailings (folding, stuffing, labeling, etc.) and data tracking 
  • Help manage spreadsheets and project timelines 

Preferred skills and experience: 

  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude toward Berklee, the Conservatory, and philanthropy
  • Comfortable being on camera and creating video content 
  • Experience or interest in public speaking and leading presentations
  • Strong writing skills for email and video script content 
  • Ability to lead peers and work collaboratively with diverse student populations
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage time and deadlines effectively
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Comfortable working remotely and in person as needed 
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
