Job Description
Nevada State University invites applications for the position of 1000 Hour Appointment - Event Coordinator for the Marketing & Events department. The 1000 hour appointment will serve as a liaison for internal events, providing logistical coordination of the university’s special event venues. You will also be responsible for developing and distributing content for the events calendar and website.

Core Responsibilities:
- Coordinating event logistics and planning.
- Reviewing event requests and communicating event details and procedures to stakeholders and support partners.
- Designing setup diagrams and serving as point of contact for vendors and equipment providers.
- Coordinating with facilities and information technology to ensure services are provided.
- Providing on-site, day-of event support.
- Managing the university’s events calendar and developing web content.
- Producing special projects, reports, and presentations.
- Supporting equipment and supply inventory tracking and maintenance.
- Serving on signature event planning committees as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.
- Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills to ensure good working relationships.
- Flexible availability to work occasional early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
- Experience with technology including room scheduling software, room diagramming software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in higher education in an event-related area.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in special events.
- Facility scheduling/coordination experience.
- Experience with 25Live room scheduling software, Social Tables room diagramming software and Canva.
Work Hours:
This position will work 20 hours per week.
Hourly Rate:
$20.00 per hour.
