Job Summary: This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command.
Major Duties:
- As a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0501-12 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serve as the TCJ8 focal point for the Command Exercise Program Conduct annual emergency management full-scale exercises/tabletop exercises Coordinate with USTRANSCOM exercise leads for scenario development/evaluation Develop, measure and report directorate financial management readiness Lead, develop, revise and report directorate financial management readiness measures Serve as TCJ8 lead advisor for identifying Joint Mission Essential Training objectives Serve as TCJ8 liaison with the USTRANSCOM Joint Security Office
Qualifications: You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service: Research, interpret, and apply financial regulatory policies, procedures, standards, and principles to provide advice on programmatic and financial related matters Develop procedures and policies for requirement and resource analysis to support management's business decisions Provide guidance to resolve controversial issues,advocating proposals and recommendations, and reporting on progress in resolving critical issues Interpret guidance to develop and/or redesign procedures to ensure necessary requirement and financial information is in the most accurate and defensible manner possible Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
