Job Summary: This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Major Duties:

  • You will provide engineering and program management support during the research, design, development, test, evaluation, production, service life support and modernization of navigation systems within the Strategic Weapon Systems (SWS).
  • You will review and analyze, from a technical viewpoint, the requirements for SWS navigation systems; reviews and analyzes the overall requirements for translation into specific requirements or characteristics for module development.
  • You will assist in the preparation of technical statements and requirements specifications for subsystem acquisitions and assist in technical cost, schedule and performance aspects of the review and negotiation of contractor proposals.
  • You will establish procedures for technical management control of navigation systems and efforts to coordinate supporting disciplines and activities.
  • You will coordinate with SPS Intra-Engineering, DCMA, and contractor personnel to ensure SSP system disciplines are maintained and that system performance meets the overall policies and objectives of SSP and the Navy.
  • You will compare project plans to ensure they support contract requirements such as Statements Of Work (SOW), Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRL) and applicable T9001B/C contract requirements.
  • You will perform special assignments such as special team investigations of advanced concepts, quality or reliability and maintainability problems or issues.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: expert knowledge in the principles of professional electronics and computer engineering sufficient to provide technical direction to support development, production and maintenance of shipboard navigation system hardware and software elements.
